Counselling Sessions

I’ve always been interested in human behaviour—how our thoughts, emotions, and experiences shape not only our identities, but also our relationships with the world around us. This lifelong curiosity has evolved into a dedicated career supporting individuals as they navigate the complexities of mental health, addiction, and personal growth. I was raised in the coastal community of Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island before relocating to Kamloops, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Thompson Rivers University. I later settled in Victoria, BC, where I pursued further training in mental health and addiction through an interdisciplinary diploma at Camosun College, followed by a Master of Counselling degree from City University in Seattle.

Over the past 15+ years, I have worked extensively in the mental health and addictions field, serving in roles such as outreach worker, support worker, and counsellor. These experiences have allowed me to work with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, each facing a wide range of behavioural, cognitive, and systemic challenges. I consider it a privilege to have walked alongside my clients through both difficult and transformative moments, and I remain committed to fostering a therapeutic space that is compassionate, respectful, and client-centered.

My specialties: Cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, family systems therapy, internal family systems therapy, feminist therapy, motivational interviewing, strength-based approach Issues: Improving communication, relationship problems, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, addiction, workplaces challenges, daily stressors, anger, disempowerment, setting boundaries, sexuality, life goals, self-esteem, grief, life transitions, childhood experiences, coping skills, existential crises, and developmental disorders.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy travelling, exploring new cuisines, reading, hiking, and spending time by the ocean in Victoria, where I live with my husband.
